En una enorme gala a beneficio de las víctimas del devastador terremoto en Haití, decenas de artistas y famosos ante todo de Estados Unidos, reunieron en la noche del 22 de enero más de 57 millones de dólares.
El show, Hope for Haiti now "Una esperanza para Haiti Ahora" que fue transmitido a todo el mundo y en Estados Unidos a través de varios canales de televisión,en vivo para Latinomérica, Los Angeles, Nueva York y Londres.
George Clooney moderó el espectáculo desde Los Angeles y el músico de hip-hop de origen haitiano Wyclef Jean desde Nueva York. Además, el reportero estrella de la CNN Anderson Cooper informó desde Haití.
Lo recaudado se dividirá en partes iguales para siete organizaciones: la Cruz Roja, UNICEF, Oxfam America, el Programa Mundial de Alimentos de la ONU (PMA), Partners in Health, la recientemente creada Fundación Clinton Bush Haiti y la organización de Wyclef Jean “Yele Haiti”que están trabajando en Haiti.
